Solution: Penny Square Puzzle
In The Penny Square Puzzle, students were challenged to take 12 pennies arranged to form a square with four pennies on each side and change it so that the square had five pennies on each side. The bonus challenge asked students to use the 12 pennies to make a square with six pennies per side. The make a square with five pennies on each side, stack two pennies on top of each other at each corner of the square. For a square with six pennies per side, stack three pennies in each corner of the square.
