Solution: The Cups and Craft Stick Challenge
The September puzzle was The Cups and Craft Stick Challenge in which students were challenged to use four craft sticks to suspend a cup between four other cups arranged in a square. The catch was, the distance between any two cups was just slightly greater than the length of the craft sticks.
To solve this very challenging puzzle, one must "weave" the craft sticks to create a small square in the center on which the cup to be suspended can rest. When constructed properly, this arrangement is able to span the cups as shown below.
