Solution: Tri-Bar Trauma
The paradox in this impossible figure is created by our mind's desire to
interpret a two-dimensional
drawing as a three-dimensional object. It is not the drawing that is impossible,
but our mind's interpretation of it. Each corner of the tri-bar, when viewed alone, is consistent with
spatial perspective despite the fact that each corner appears to face a different direction. It is when all three
corners are viewed together that the spatial paradox is produced.
